Well, I solved that easy... I had commented out: add autoenable 10.1.1.1 1
while trouble shooting prior to firmware upgrade. All is working now.

I have rancid working with my Dell Powerconnect 8024F & PowerConnect 7048.
I am having issues with powerconnect 5448 and similar models. I thought a
firmware update may do the trick, but still having problems after firmware
upgrade.
Trying to get all of the configs.
